From June 25 to 27, 2025, the Third National Forum on Engineering Seismic Resistance, Isolation, and Vibration Control Technologies was held at Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA). Guided by the Expert Committee of Seismic Fortification for Building Engineering of MOHURD, Earthquake Disaster Mitigation Branch of China Engineering & Consulting Association, and Earthquake Disaster Mitigation Engineering Branch of China Civil Engineering Society, the forum was co-hosted by BUCEA and Southeast University.

Centered on innovations and applications in engineering seismic resistance, isolation, and vibration control technologies, the forum aimed to: promote theoretical, technical, and practical advancements; foster interdisciplinary integration of engineering seismic resistance with mechanics, AI, and related fields; tackle critical technical challenges in China’s seismic resilience sector; and provide scientific support for resilient cities, urban renewal, and sustainable development. The forum included an opening ceremony, 12 keynote presentations, 6 parallel sessions featuring 72 specialized reports and a tour at the Multi-functional Shaking Tables Laboratory.

BUCEA Vice President LI Junqi emphasized that as an earthquake-prone nation, China relies on engineering seismic resistance, isolation, and vibration control technologies to enhance structural safety and advance resilient urban development. The ceremony was chaired by Professor LI Aiqun, BUCEA faculty member and director of the organizing committee of the forum .

Keynote speakers included Prof. YUE Qingrui from University of Science and Technology Beijing, Prof. LV Xilin from Tongji University, Prof. DU Xiuli from Beijing University Of Technology, Prof. LI Hui from Harbin Institute of Technology, Researcher WANG Yayong from China Academy of Building Research, Prof. LI Aiqun from BUCEA, Prof. HAN Linhai from Tsinghua University, Prof. FENG Demin from China Electronics Engineering Design Institute, Chief Engineer FENG Yuan from China Southwest Architectural Design & Research Institute, Prof. ZHOU Yun from Guangzhou University, Prof. ZENG Demin from BUCEA, and Prof. GUO Tong from Southeast University. The forum gathered over 400 experts nationwide.

Six parallel sessions featured industry-leading chairs for each session, case studies and technical exchanges, and deep dives into cutting-edge advancements and development trends in the respective fields.

This forum injected new vitality and momentum into the development of engineering seismic resistance, isolation, and vibration control technologies, innovative concepts, and key industry challenges, the forum aimed to deepen exchange and collaboration, promote interdisciplinary synergy, and advance the development of new quality productive forces. It sought to foster industry-academia-research integration to achieve economic, social and environmental benefits.
