Ivan Markov
Distinguished presidents, dear guests,
Good afternoon! It is my honor to stand here to address at this forum representing my university. At the beginning of my address, I want to say I also discussed with other guests while I was preparing for this address. Originally, I wanted to introduce Bulgaria to all of you. However, I changed my mind later. Anyway, I want to thank the initiate unit of this Consortium especially. I am also so honored to be able to join this International Consortium.
First, in my introduction, I want to share that railway and road are certainly very important. However, now what is more important is to establish a bridge among the students and teacher, which is also an honor for us. Our university was founded in 1941. At present, there is no such a higher technical school any more. For some reasons, I have no method to explain in details here. Our law articles also made some change, and our university changed a new name. As shown in the picture, these are our university buildings, these are our professor. Maybe some of the pictures are relatively old and some of the professors are still the teachers when I was a student.
Now, I will introduce the teaching staff distribution situation, including the architecture aspect, and the degrees we provide in city planning. First, as for architecture, it is mainly master’s degree; as for city planning, we have projects for both undergraduate and postgraduate. As for geographical surveying, we have projects for postgraduate of 10 terms, as well as projects of real estate and land management, and all our postgraduate projects have corresponding requirements according to the laws and regulations of Bulgaria. All our teachers are professors and postgraduates. Meanwhile, we also have structure engineering, civil engineering, project management, etc. For me, I work for the college of structure engineering. There is college of water conservatory project, which includes water conservatory project, water supply, sewage treatment, water management, and other majors. We also have college of traffic engineering, which offers master degree, including traffic engineering, with 10 terms of teaching. After the completion of 8 terms of teaching, or precisely, after the completion of the 4th terms, as for the students of railway engineering and road engineering, they will have special study of practical engineering. Meanwhile, we also have cooperation with Technische Universität Wien. These are the academic certifications of us, including the certification from Royal Institute of British Architects of various colleges of Bulgaria. This project of us takes science and practice as orientation, thus we will also organize special disciplinary conference. We organized a series of scientific research activity in the 75th anniversary ceremony of our university. Moreover, the former president of Bulgaria also visited our university to guide our work once.
Besides, we also took part in many education projects of Europe. This is our campus, which is the campus in the middle of Sofia. This part of our campus is just for teaching activity and this is one of the teaching buildings.
For sure, we also face some problems, like the new challenges we meet. However, from now on, we should face the challenges jointly under the new initiative of the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium.
As for the highway on the picture, I will not explain in details. Here, we list our vision and our objective. We hope further expand our recruitment scope and carry out further operation through this conference. Thank you all for listening.
